Andrea Magg was born and raised in Iceland. She spent her childhood on a farm, which was the perfect environment in which to foster and nurture her creativity. As a child she was fascinated by color, spending her days happily drawing, always using the brightest colors in the box. Andrea’s love of vivid color spilled over into all her creative pursuits, which over the years came to include calligraphy, jewelry-making, furniture-refinishing, knitting, quilting, ceramics, and photography. After eventually relocating to the United States, she continued to explore various creative outlets including painting during her time at art school. Over time, Andrea’s fondness of painting at her home studio blossomed into a fervent exploration of her creative expression.
Andrea’s current work is a culmination of her creative experiences and reflects her lifelong obsession with colors, forms and composition. Her art practice explores interactions of color and experiments with both balance and tension. Her signature color play and geometrical elements combine to create a sense of kinetic celebration. Andrea’s creative process is intuitive and evolves as she engages with the work, giving it a spontaneous feel.
Andrea currently lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Her work is part of private collections both domestically and abroad, and has been showcased in art shows hosted by international brands.
